From our hair struggles to your hair solutions!
Zehn started during the pandemic. I was stressed, tired, and honestly not feeling like myself, and I started noticing more hair in the shower, more hair on my brush, and my hairline looking thinner in photos. At first I tried to brush it off, but as time went on, stress, age, and hormonal changes made it harder to ignore.
Around the same time, a close friend of mine was dealing with androgenetic alopecia, something that runs in his family. We’d talk about it all the time, swapping products, comparing notes, and feeling frustrated that so many options either felt gimmicky or didn’t explain what they were actually doing. So we decided to put our energy into creating something real, together.
And as a hairdresser, I’ve seen how common this is. Women sit in my chair and quietly admit they’re embarrassed, they’re losing confidence, they’re scared it won’t stop. That’s the moment it stopped being just my problem. It became a mission.
We started digging through articles and studies, looking for natural ingredients that actually have evidence behind them and are known to support scalp health and fuller-looking, stronger hair. That’s how Zehn Hair Serum was born: a blend of 100% natural oils, inspired by tradition, backed by research, and made for anyone who just wants to feel good when they look in the mirror again.
Natural Ingredients
Why We Chose These Ingredients
We carefully selected each oil based on traditional use and emerging research around scalp care and hair strength. While our product is a cosmetic oil not a medical treatment. These ingredients have been widely studied for their supportive properties.
Jojoba Oil
Research suggests jojoba oil closely resembles the scalp’s natural sebum, helping moisturize without clogging pores. It has been studied for its potential to support hair strength and reduce scalp inflammation. We include it for its lightweight, balancing properties.
Fractionated Coconut Oil
This lightweight carrier oil helps seal in moisture and improve manageability without heaviness. Medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil have been studied for their ability to penetrate the hair shaft, which may help reduce breakage and frizz. We chose it to enhance softness and shine.
Black Seed Oil (Nigella sativa)
Traditionally used in Middle Eastern and Ayurvedic practices, black seed oil contains antioxidants and compounds studied for scalp-supporting properties. It has been explored for its role in maintaining a healthy scalp environment.
Bhringraj Oil (Eclipta alba)
A well-known Ayurvedic botanical, bhringraj has been traditionally used to support thicker-looking hair. Some small studies have investigated its relationship with hair growth cycles. We include it because of its long history in scalp care rituals.
Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary has been studied for its potential role in supporting scalp circulation. It is widely used in natural hair care for maintaining fuller-looking hair and scalp vitality.
